How it all began…
My passion is creating beautiful, atmospheric and individual spaces. I love to combine the use of colour and sourcing beautiful objects and materials (old and new) to tell a story.
I grew up in the midst of my parents rebuilding our family home and even then remember the excitement I felt of seeing the space develop.
That excitement has stayed with me and I've studied and worked in the creative industry for over 30 years.
I began at Brighton University where I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Fine Art and Printmaking.
I then gained diplomas in Interior Design and Soft Furnishings and Upholstery at London College of Furniture.
I have worked with contemporary furniture and interior designers as well as traditional master upholsterers and soft furnishers in both modern and historic settings and gained so much knowledge from other craftsmen and women on the way.
I trained and worked as an In Home Colour Consultant with Farrow & Ball for seven years and helped thousands of customers with their projects both in the showroom setting and at their homes or businesses.
What I’m doing now…
Recently, I’ve project-managed the refurbishment of an Andalusian town-house in Spain mixing both traditional and modern architectural features with a team of Spanish Builders (with a limited knowledge of Spanish and Google Translate!).
I don't have days off from creativity, I subscribe to Divisare to browse the beautiful architecture, I attend interior design shows such as Decorex, Maison & Object and Surface Design.
I am always sourcing bargains at Antique Fairs and car boot sales and eBay for my customers and for myself.
Most recently I attended classes with the master of historic colours, Patrick Baty of Papers and Paint.
I also enjoy days out to National Trust and English Heritage properties and their gardens to seek inspiration.
Now, working in my happy place between the areas of freelance Interior Design, in-home Colour Consultancy and Home Styling I continue to help people make their house their homes.
Some recent projects include a Swedish Post Office building that has been turned into a home, a Cotswold hunting lodge, a beautiful Victorian Townhouse, a Leamington deli, a Cornish boutique hotel, a café in a historic home.
I have a vast knowledge of many designers and trends, kitchen companies both modern and traditional) and with the current and archived palettes of paint and fabric ranges.
I work mainly with Farrow & Ball and Little Green paints and have their larger samples (due to demand) but I also have experience and work with Lick, Fired Earth, Zoffany, Heritage by Dulux, Ticareli, Edward Bulmer, to name but a few.
