Colour Consultant

Colour has a huge impact on how we feel, think and behave.

So, what better way to create a positive mindset than to surround ourselves with colours that we love?

As a freelance Colour Consultant I can make recommendations from any, or all, of the leading paint brands to suit your budget.

I can also help you decide on which colours and tones will work in your home - to create a beautiful space which flows.

I consider the light and the directions your rooms face, the time of day that you use the rooms and the architecture of the space.

I will look at your collections, furniture fixtures and fittings - and find colours that unify them.

Why work with a colour consultant?

Colour consultancy is for you, if:

  • You have firm ideas of what you want but have trouble realising it.

  • You have absolutely no idea what to do and need some inspiration.

  • Or, you just need a push to do something a little out of your usual comfort zone or simply need clarification you are doing things right.

I can help in all cases – by removing doubt and filling you with the confidence to make the right decisions.

Why choose me as your colour consultant?

Tap in to my knowledge of all the big brands’ colour palettes

I’m experienced at dipping in and out and making use of all the big brands’ colour palettes, including Farrow & Ball, Little Green, Atelier Ellis, Edward Bulmer, Fired Earth, Dulux and Zoffany among others.

I also know quite a few independent ones too.

Create a backdrop to enhance your belongings

I am passionate about making the most of your home and using colour to unify all your belongings in your space and bringing it to its full potential.

Together, we’ll bring out the true potential of every space in your home

I believe every space and surface in your home deserves consideration to bring out its true potential.

From the hall to the larder, the skirting to the ceiling.

Ensure there are no costly mistakes or wasted money on sampling colours

I have seven years of experience in the colour consultancy field having worked for Farrow & Ball both as an In Home Colour Consultant and helping the customers in the showroom.

Gain the confidence to take bolder, stylish steps now and in the future

As a true hater of the commonplace “magnolia”, I always try to inspire my clients to use something a little, and just sometimes, a lot different, regardless of their budget.

The aim is always to create a much more considered, inspired and beautiful space.

Highly experienced professional

I have helped hundreds of happy customers find colours and wallpaper for their home both remotely and by visiting them in their homes and business places.

A typical colour consultation and what happens…

All projects are different but most tend to share a certain structure, designed to help us make the most of our time together.

First, we will have a short phone consultation where we will discuss your project.

Mood board interior design

We will discuss how many rooms you wish to work on. Usually we can comfortably create schemes for three to four rooms in one hour – depending on the size and complexity of each room.

We will discuss which paint company’s palette you wish to use, any issues you have been having so far and any ideas you want to explore.

We will arrange a date and time for the appointment and I will send you the terms and conditions, including payment details, to sign-off and return.

Then you’d send me pictures of your home, relevant samples, any mood boards, ideas you have already formulated.

I will come to your home with the larger relevant paint company’s colour samples.

Or, for the virtual consultancy we will work with a colour chart that both of us will have on hand.

At the appointment you will have any relevant samples (carpet, fabrics, tiles etc) and together we can decide what colours and papers to use.

After the appointment I will send you an emailed specification sheet including all your colours, finishes and the surfaces they cover.

I will give you an estimated quantity for paint needed.

Please note, if you would like a more detailed estimate I suggest asking your decorator to work out his/her recommendation as the substrate and decorator’s technique can be very varied and effect the amount of paint used.

I will also make some suggestions of where you may get the paint as some places offer discounts to first time buyers.

Colour Consultancy - My fees
